Among New England's most-experienced robotic urologic surgeons.
Harvard- and Massachusetts General Hospital-trained. Focused on robotic prostatectomy, kidney cancer surgery, advanced prostate cancer care, and the procedures that protect quality of life.
Vermont-raised. Harvard-trained. Practicing in Maine.
Dr. Ursiny completed his urology residency and the Hugh Cabot Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital — Harvard Medical School's flagship teaching hospital — and served on faculty there before bringing that practice home to Maine.
His clinical focus is the spectrum of urologic oncology — particularly robotic prostatectomy and kidney cancer surgery — alongside the procedures that improve everyday quality of life: stone disease, reconstruction, and no-scalpel vasectomy. He is known for a calm, plainspoken style and for advocating hard for the right equipment and the right plan for each patient.
Patients travel from across Maine and New Hampshire — including the Seacoast, central New Hampshire, and the Conway / White Mountains region — for his care.
The operations that define this practice.
Each procedure has its own page — written for patients, not pamphlets — explaining what it is, who it's for, how it's done here, and what recovery actually looks like.
Robotic Prostatectomy
High-volume robotic removal of the prostate for prostate cancer, with techniques aimed at continence and erectile recovery.
Learn more →Robotic Kidney Cancer Surgery
Partial and full nephrectomy for kidney cancer — preserving as much healthy kidney as the cancer allows.
Learn more →Robotic Pyeloplasty
Reconstruction of the kidney's drainage system for UPJ obstruction — a definitive fix, minimally invasive.
Learn more →Robotic Simple Prostatectomy
For very large prostates (typically 140 cc or greater) — durable relief when medications and smaller procedures fall short.
Learn more →Prostate Biopsy
MRI-guided prostate biopsy — most done quickly and comfortably in the office, with transperineal also available.
Learn more →Supine, Tubeless PCNL
For the largest and most complex kidney stones — supine positioning, no external tube, faster recovery.
Learn more →Ureteroscopy with Vacuum Aspiration
The latest generation of stone surgery — laser plus active suction. Often a less invasive alternative to PCNL, even for larger stones.
Learn more →Advanced Prostate Cancer Care
Multidisciplinary, long-term management of high-risk, recurrent, and metastatic disease — modern hormonal therapy and beyond.
Learn more →No-Scalpel Vasectomy
The gentlest, lowest-complication way to do a vasectomy — high-volume, in-office, back-to-work in days.

Dr. Ursiny immediately gave me confidence from his calm demeanor. I felt treated as a person rather than just a medical problem. He listened and responded directly to my questions. The eventual surgery he performed resulted in nothing less than a resurrection experience.
Dr. Ursiny made me feel heard and validated, and showed a calm confidence I had never experienced with any other doctor. He advocated on my behalf for the hospital to obtain a specific attachment for the robotic surgery that was necessary for my case. The surgery could not have gone any better.
